We – at Effe-ti Taroni take the environmental issue very seriously.
As a company, we strive to achieve sustainable development and curb environmental pollution stemming from our activity and products, constantly aiming at striking balance between high-quality service and low environmental impact.
For us, 2020 marked a historic turning point. As a matter of fact, the pandemic pushed us toward greater awareness of the environment, highlighting the relationship of interdependence between us and nature, which is directly affected by our actions.
The issue around climate and the environment is becoming increasingly important. As a company, how do you address this issue and the global emergency?
We strongly believe that awareness around social and environmental matters is of crucial importance both considering the context we live in and above all in the near future. We want to raise the level of attention to our planet, because climate and environmental issues are of crucial importance.
We all must play our part in protecting the planet and act as if environmental protection depended on each and every action we take.
How do you – as Effe-ti Taroni – see the concept of green development and the implementation of sustainable development?
The concept of green development entails each one doing their part to ensure energy saving and avoiding consuming resources. Were we all to apply these concepts worldwide, we could protect the planet’s resources.
We are called upon to ensure controlled consumption of resources so that the next generation has access to the same resources as the previous generation.
What is the relationship between consuming less and producing quality products?
To us, consuming less means manufacturing quality products that are especially durable over time.
We stand against “planned obsolescence” of products and the entailed harmful consumerism. Our vision aims at offering a small and constant contribution towards safeguarding mother Earth.
Which goals do you pursue and what actions do you take to promote environmental protection?
Our goal is to pollute less, but above all to consume less
The recycling concept is a widely known fact when it comes to environmental matters. However, the ability to recycle is not the only way to avoid pollution. It actually is not the most effective way.
For example plastics are a widespread concern and the management of plastic waste is essential toward safeguarding the entire planet. The common approach rotates around what to do with the plastic in our possession.
We took a step back and went to the root of the problem: we wondered how to avoid putting plastic into the market.
Not only did we remove plastic from packaging, replacing it with paper, but – in conjunction with some of our customers – we eliminated single packaging wherever possible.
Furthermore, we optimised production processes to the utmost, hence drastically reducing waste. Besides being a waste for the environment, a non-compliant product is costly and it does not generate value.
Lastly, we created a sort of circular economy, where all generated waste is recycled and reused.
What projects are you planning to launch?
We are trying to break free from buying electricity. We want to generate our own clean and renewable energy. This is a major investment we expect to make in the near future.
